Here at Attic we believe that businesses, as well as individuals, have a major role to play in preserving and maintaining our environment. Indeed, business, haulage and industry accounts for the majority of emissions in the UK.

So we aim to provide the best quality services to our clients at the fairest prices… but not at any cost.

How will we play our part?

• By ensuring we limit our use of energy as far as possible
• By questioning the need to use appliances and limit our use of energy to times when its use is indispensable
• By sourcing the energy we do use strictly from renewable sources only
• By ensuring all our company vehicles are fuel efficient
• We will, wherever possible, aim to utilise recycled materials
• We will, wherever possible, aim to recycle office waste
• We will encourage our customers and staff to do the same, by providing recycling facilities on site
• On an annual basis, we will calculate our carbon footprint and use a recognised offset scheme to help reduce the impact we have on the environment

Not just more promises...

We have already made the following commitments:

• Our mezzanine decking is sourced exclusively from well managed forests, controlled sources and recycled wood or fiber
• A significant proportion (over 80%) of the merchandise and packaging we sell is recycled or is recyclable
• Our facility has been fitted with PIR (passive infrared detection) to reduce power consumption so our lights are only on when they need to be
• We have fitted compact fluorescent light fittings with electronic starters to further reduce energy consumption, the first in our industry to do so
• 100% of our power requirements are sourced from renewable sources

Awards

 Attic Self Storage has won the Storage.co.uk award for environmental awareness.  Facing competition from over 1,200 stores across the UK, Attic won the award for it's environmental policies, in addition to significant investment made in low carbon technologies on site to reduce the carbon footprint of the business.  Please visit  Storage.co.uk to find out more.

Recycling on Site

If you're serious about what you stand for, you do more than put together a neat website.  That's why, in addition to all of the above, Attic Storage is delighted to play host to an on-site cardboard recycling team!  Bring us your cardboard old & new, and we'll recycle it for you.  

Our environment isn’t just about nature though – and we recognise this by supporting a number of charities including Medecins Sans Frontieres and the British Red Cross, as well as supporting local initiatives wherever possible.
