Attic Self Storage recently underwent a complete refurbishment, resulting in the construction of a spacious, welcoming and contemporary reception area along with new offices for the storage and removals teams. The refurbishment was accompanied by a new glass facade, new white cladding and brand new, internally lit (and environmentally friendly!) signage.
Fitted out by SAS Storage Solutions specialist Gary Jennings, the refurb has attracted a significant amount of positive feedback and additional interest. Combined with effective online marketing solutions and internal operational improvements, this has resulted in the store filling to capacity.
At one point, we had only 12 units available, out of just shy of 500! Consequently, the need for additional units has arisen and Gary has risen to meet that challenge. “We immediately responded by constructing 16 additional units. While this was a small number, the unit size mix took some pressure off the sales team and bought us the time to schedule a 1,500sq ft, 30 unit additional build.” While this only adds around 10% to our self storage capacity at this time, to be adding capacity in winter is unusual. Self storage is a seasonal business and the summer months are normally the busiest – just like the removals industry. This is because the majority of people look to move during the summer holidays.
Attic and SAS have now drawn up plans to add a further 6,000sq ft across a variety of unit sizes in the spring, should the existing level of demand continue. This would add over 100 new self storage units and bring Attic close to capacity, with one final round of fit-out on the cards.
Attic’s excellent customer service, allied to the professional, contemporary image implied by the new reception and our effective online marketing have ensured we remain full – and that is just as pleasing to our fit-out contractors as it is to us!
