If your 2020 lockdown experience was one long summer of stress and worry – trying to provide childcare, home learning, some semblance of normal family life and still generate an income to live on – we feel for you. It’s been rough for everyone.
Nothing seems set or certain anymore. The official advice feels like it changes every other day. And nobody really knows where ‘following the science’ is ultimately going to lead us all.
We’re pleased to say that Attic Self Storage has managed to stay open for business throughout this whole extraordinary saga. Our staff have been brilliant – customers have been made to feel safe, secure and satisfied, while our daily cleansing rituals and social-distancing protocols have become second nature in all our stores.
Starting out at Wick Lane, E3 in 2006, we’ve built our business from the grass roots (and wildflower meadow) up and now have storage facilities available right across the capital. From Bow in the East to Harrow (coming soon) in the West (via King’s Cross and Marylebone), Attic isn’t just surviving, we’re thriving.
Now, more than ever, we’re determined to play a positive role at the heart of the local communities that we serve. We’re here to help you move forward into the new (ab)normal world with confidence, no matter what you decide to do next.
If you’ve been furloughed, maybe you’re finally going back to work. Perhaps the company you used to work for didn’t survive the pandemic and you’re looking to create a more secure future for yourself. Or are you one of those poor unfortunates who’ve been made redundant as part of some corporate cost-cutting exercise?
If you already run your own business, chances are you’ve been frantically busy trying to keep it afloat since the spring. The lockdown has made a lot of folk reconsider their work/life balance and fundamentally re-evaluate what they do to make money.
If you can’t face the prospect of going back to progress report meetings and tortuous water cooler conversations at the office, maybe now is the time to dump the old ways of working and set up something fresh, new and thoroughly ‘you’. Got an idea that you want to get off the ground? We’d love to hear about it and help in any practical way that we can. Providing New Business Storage is one of our particular passions and specialities here at Attic.
With most primary and secondary pupils back in class, at least you won’t have to worry about hosting mid-morning trampoline sessions while you’re trying to run a home business. School start times may still be staggered, and there may be a few glitches with the timetable, but you should be able to grab a few hours to be your own boss before the kids come home demanding to be fed, entertained, and taken to football training. Immediately.
However unusual your new business idea is, our flexible storage solutions are designed to suit your specific requirements. You could be running a record shop or a fashion business and need a small warehouse to keep your stock in. You may be an online entrepreneur and require a postal address, a meeting room, and a little place to store those 8,000 clockwork Luck Kittens you’re importing from China.
Whatever you want to do, if you need space to make it happen, Attic is the answer. And while we’re on the subject of flexibility, our opening hours are just about as stretchy and bendable as you could ask for – you can access your super-secure CCTV monitored unit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 day a year.
London always seems to bounce back from the worst assaults its people have thrown at them. Last week was the 80th Anniversary of the Blitz, when the Luftwaffe set out to flatten the capital. On the 7th September 1940, over 350 German bombers dropped 300 tonnes of high explosives on the docks and streets of the East End, killing and wounding 2,000 people. London was attacked every day and night, bar one, for the next 11 weeks. One third of the city was destroyed.
The stoicism with which the British people, and Londoners in particular, endured the Blitz made a deep impression on the news commentators of the day, and radio reports helped persuade the U.S. public that Britain was not a beaten nation and deserved backing in the fight against the Nazi regime.
Thankfully we’re not having to deal with a sustained bombing campaign by planes flying in from Europe this week, although the threat of coronavirus still seems to drift over the city like a sinister shadow.
But have no fear. We’re convinced that the creativity, humour and resilience of London and Londoners will triumph again, just like it has throughout history.
These may be frightening and confusing times, but we are here for you whenever you need us. In an uncertain world, it’s nice to know you can rely on Attic Self Storage, whichever side of town you live.
