We were approached recently by a local school, St Elizabeth Catholic Primary School in Bethnal Green, East London, after a family faced eviction just days before Christmas.
With nowhere to go and no resources to pay for removals or storage, this family was facing a most awful Christmas. Thankfully, together with a local man & van, we were at least able to help alleviate some of the suffering, agreeing to move the family's belongings in to storage free of charge. While the family will still undoubtedly not have the Christmas they might have been expecting, we hope that their suffering has at least been reduced a little, both with our help and in the knowledge that they are not alone.
We are all hopeful that this family will get back their feet as soon as possible, and we wish them all the very best for 2016. A new year, a new beginning.
We are extremely grateful to St Elizabeth for bringing the situation to our attention and affording us the opportunity to help a family this Christmas. As you sit down for your Christmas dinner on the 25th, spare a thought for those less fortunate, and remember what Christmas is really all about.
