Sponsor for Hackney RFC

Attic Self Storage are proud to be the sponsor for Hackney RFC for the second year running.

In particular are sponsoring the “London 10s” competition where the Attic Self Storage Cup will be awarded to the winners of the competition. The year’s theme was the Olympics following the introduction of 7s rugby into the Olympics in Brazil. The games were played as 10-a-side rugby with 7s rules. In addition to the rugby there were passing and kicking challenges.

Hackney RFC are also very proud of their own Amber Kirwan who was selected to represent England U18s Rugby 7s in the Home Nations tournament in Scotland.

Local community involvement

As a local business we welcomed the opportunity to give something back to the community, by funding Rugby community courses. This year we will be sponsoring he weekly Rugby coaching courses at Haggerston Park, which are run by Sagan Daniels the head of Hackney’s Coaching Team. These sessions usually consist of 20-40 players, drawn from charity, community groups and schools in the area. This is part of Hackney RFC’s outreach programme for those who are unable to afford the costs associated with belonging to a regular sport team.

Hackney RFC have 7 coaches supporting these sessions and 4 of them are youngsters who have come up through the club and are now fully qualified coaches!

Hackney RFC

Hackney Rugby Club regularly organise coaching sessions and tag rugby tournaments for the benefit of the local community, and they have sometimes enlisted the support of Rugby celebrities. Will Greenwood has wooed the young audiences with tales of playing for the England Rugby Team that won the Rugby World Cup in 2003.
